Many customers tell us they would like the option to contribute financially to the further development of green technologies.
We’re responding by asking the Illinois Commerce Commission for permission to offer the Voluntary Green Program (VGP). Under this totally optional program, you will have the opportunity to purchase renewable energy credits (RECs) at a modest price.
Each REC is equal to 1,000 kWhs of electricity produced from any renewable energy source. You will have the option of buying RECs for as little as $3, but only if you want. No customers will be charged for this service without opting into the program.
