Unlike most businesses, the Ameren Illinois Utilities are not allowed to adjust rates immediately to offset higher or unexpected operating expenses. We carry those costs until a rate case can be filed and approved. As a result, we make aggressive cost-containment a priority, so that we maximize the value of the service we provide to you.
